A tradition of IN 1912, my grandfather Dominick came to the United States from Palermo, Sicily. He spoke not a word of English but had an amazing work ethic. That same year he started selling fruit and vegetables from a basket door-to-door. After a short time, business was so good that he bought a horse and buggy—and after a few years, trucks—to deliver the products.  Steve, my Dad, turned 14 in 1941 and graduated from school. He and my Uncle Benny joined the family business and continued the tradition of selling to Chicago's finest hotels and restaurants. My brother Dominick and I joined the family business 25 years ago as the third generation of Testas. Our names may have changed, but our commitment to selling the highest quality merchandise and providing outstanding customer service has not. In the last 88 years, refrigeration and freezers have revolutionized storage, our trucks look very different, communications are instant with phones, faxes, e-mail, and the Web. We ship product by rail, truck and air.  Our products now include all varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables, domestic and international, as well as frozen, canned, processed, and specialty items. We have created this website to improve customer service even more. At your finger tips you will find our specialty lists and our general product lines.  I personally keep you abreast of current conditions with a weekly Market Report.
